Harry recovers in the hospital wing, where Dumbledore explains the truth about the stone’s destruction and his mother’s protection. At the end-of-year feast, Slytherin appears to have won the House Cup, but Dumbledore awards last-minute points to Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Neville Longbottom for their extraordinary courage and friendship. These points secure the victory for Gryffindor, much to the school's delight. As the term ends, Harry realizes that although he must return to the Dursleys for the summer, he has finally found a true home and family at Hogwarts.
